Research about the tools on Wikimedia projects by the CEE Hub

Hi everyone,

We would like to invite you to submit your responses to the survey dedicated to the tools that are used currently across the Wikimedia projects and the tools that you want to have.

This survey was made by the working group of the CEE Hub, and your responses will be reviewed afterwards, as we want to continue supporting the communities. That support can be documentation for certain most used tools by other communities across the region per specific topics, finding solutions for new tools to be created in the future, creating most needed tools in the region (so called "regional wishlist list"), and many other options.

Deadline to fill in the survey is 20th of August, 2024.

Join us at the Next CEE Catch up! Learn about Temporary accounts!

Hi everyone,

We want to announce the tenth CEE Catch Up session, which will be dedicated to the Temporary accounts, as this important change is going to affect every Wikipedia soon, so it is important for patrollers and functionaries like you to understand this change. On wikis where temporary accounts are enabled, IP addresses of unregistered editors are not visible publicly. Only those who fight spam, vandalism, harassment and disinformation have access to IP addresses there.

The session will take place on 10th of June 2025, 18:00-19:00 CEST (check your local time).

Growth features - Mentorship and Community updates

​Hi everyone,

Wikimedia Foundation worked on evolving some of the growth features, primarily dedicated to the newcomers in our movement and communities. If you do not know, everyone can access them, activating them from Preferences (in the below of the page).

You can learn about these features here.

CEE Hub is contacting you (patrollers/admins) directly as we would like to bring to your attention two of these features that we think can be useful for your community: Mentorship and Community Updates.

We noticed that the majority of the CEE language editions of Wikipedia does not have active one of these features, so we are encouraging you to check whether your wiki has these features and if not to begin community discussion if you want to introduce them to your editors. If you want to check it, you need to go to the Special:CommunityConfiguration page on your wiki, where all of the growth features are listed.

Hello.

In the article Մենք ենք, մեր սարերը (յուշարձան), can you add current-day information post-2023 about this monument? According to reports, the monument has been vandalized and its surroundings also have been damaged. Damage in the front and in the back of the monument is clearly visible in the photos and videos. According to reports, the Azerbaijani government is considering demolishing the monument.

This has been added in en:We Are Our Mountains and later added in hy:Մե՛նք ենք մեր սարերը (կոթող), and I am sure there are Armenian news sources about this ongoing vandalism of the monument.
