Ճէյմս Ռասըլ (1953^[…], Նիւ Եորք, Նիւ Եորք, Ամերիկայի Միացեալ Նահանգներ), ամերիկացի արեւելագէտ, իրանագէտ եւ հայագէտ։ : Ռասըլ, ծագումով հրեայ, մասնագիտացած է հայերէն լեզուի եւ հայագիտութեան մէջ։

Կենսագրութիւն

Ծնած է Նիւ Եորք։ Շրջանաւարտ է Նիւ Եորքի Քոլոմպիա Համալսարանէն։ Դոկտորականի թեզը պաշտպանած է Լոնտոնի Համալսարանի Արեւելեան եւ Ափրիկեան Բաժանմունքին մէջ: Դասաւանդած է Քոլոմպիա Համալսարան ապա ստանձնած է Փրոֆէսորի պաշտօն Երուսաղէմի Հիպրու Համալսարանին մէջ։

1993-2016 Պաշտօնավարած է Հարվըրտ Համալսարան, իբրեւ Մեսրոպ Մաշտոցի անուան փրոֆէսօր, Մերձաւոր Արեւելքի Լեզուներու եւ Քաղաքակրթութեան Բաժանմունքին մէջ։ Վարչական Անդամ է՝ ՏԷյվիս Կեդրոնի Ռուս եւ Եւրոասիական Բաժանմունքին մէջ։ Փրոֆէսօր է նաեւ Հին Մերձաւոր Արեւելքի, Իրանական եւ Հայկական Կրթական Բաժանմունքին մէջ։

Համաշխարհային համբաւ վայելող գիտնականը, բազմաթիւ գիտական ուսումնասիրութիւններու տէր է եւ հեղինակ վեց համաշխարհայնօրէն ընդունուած անկիւնադարձային գիրքերու։

Ներկայիս կ'ապրի Ֆրէզնօ, ԱՄՆ ուր կը շարունակէ իր ուսումնասիրութիւնները։ Ան նաեւ այցելու փրոֆէսօր է կարգ մը համալսարաններու մէջ:

Ակադեմական Ասպարէզ

Իր PHD-ն աւարտելէն անմիջապէս ետք ան վերադարձաւ Նիւ Եորք Քաղաք եւ դասաւանդեց Քոլումպիա Համալսարանին Մերձաւոր Արեւելքի Լեզուներու եւ Մշակոյթներու (MELAC) Բաժանմունքին մէջ։

Ան յաջորդաբար տեղափոխուեցաւ Իսրայէլ՝ դառնալու Լեյտի Տէյվիսի փրոֆեսոր Երուսաղէմի Եբրայական Համալսարանին մէջ՝ գիտնական Մայքլ Ի. Սթոունի յորդորով եւ հրաւէրով։

Ռասըլ դասաւանդած եւ դասախօսած է Հայաստանի, Հնդկաստանի եւ Իրանի մէջ, ինչպէս նաեւ Ռուսաստանի Գիտութիւններու Ակադեմիայի Արեւելեան Հիմնարկին (Oriental Institute) եւ Սեն Փեթերսպուրկի Պետական Համալսարանին մէջ։ Ան Կառավարական Միութեան դասախօս էր Հնդկաստանի Պոմպէյի Քամա Հիմնարկին մէջ։

Ան հարցազրոյցներու տուած է իբրեւ փորձագէտ եւ գիտնական «The History Channel»-ի վաւերագրական ծրագիրներուն մէջ, ներառեալ՝ Հրեշտակներ. Բարի՞ թէ Չար։

Ան դասախօսած է Փրկաբանութեան մասին Մետաքսի Ճանապարհին վրայ՝ Թորոնթոյի Համալսարանի Պուտտայական Դասախօսութիւններու Շարքին, 2005-ի Հոկտեմբերին, եւ կազմակերպած ու նախագահած է միջազգային գիտաժողով մը նոյն ամիսը՝ նշելու Սուրբ Մեսրոպ Մաշտոցի՝ Հայերէնի Այբուբենի գիւտարարին՝ 1600-ամեակը։

Ան գրած է Գրիգոր Նարեկացիի գրութիւններուն գաղտնի, միսթիքական եւ հոգեւոր կողմերուն մասին, զանոնք թարգմանած եւ վերլուծած է եւ գրած է բազմաթիւ յօդուածներ «Encyclopædia Iranica»-ի համար։ Ան աշխատակցած է «New Leader» պարբերականին։

Իր ընտրեալ հրատարակուած 91 գիտական յօդուածները հաւաքուած են իր «Հայագիտական եւ Իրանագիտական Ուսումնասիրութիւններ» (Armenian and Iranian Studies) գիրքին մէջ։
